Sharon Landry
Vice-President
I have lived in our community closing in on 50 years. My husband Bob and I owned, and operated Landry's Cleaners for 38 years before closing in 2015. We raised our three children in our town and were highly involved in their activities: ball, hockey, ringette, school sports and anything else they showed an interest in. I was a founding member of the original Daycare board, and in 1995 I began the first of two terms on town council. I am most proud to have been a committee member of the North Peace Housing Foundation, and being an integral part of bringing the Harvest Lodge to our community.
Six of our eight grandchildren are being raised in our community, and so I have a continuing vested interest in our area and it's well being. I am pleased to be a part of this board and it's commitment to our communities and residents.
I was the chairperson of the committee responsible for the construction of the Frederick Spirk Medical Clinic, a perfect example of the Foundation and it's investment in the community!
I have been a member of the Foundation for six years and feel very fortunate to be a part of a group with the best interest in health and wellness for the residents of our area.
Cliff Wagner
Treasurer
Born and raised in Fairview, lived here all my life. I currently own and manage the John Deere Dealership in Fairview called Prairie Coast Equipment. I have spent many volunteer years on many boards, curling, minor baseball, golf club, and minor hockey.
Cliff has served on the Fairview Hospital Complex Foundation for the past nine years.
Joan Smith
Secretary
I am a retired teacher (Home Economist) educated in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. I still teach part time, mainly CTS classes. I have lived and worked in Hines Creek for over 40 years. My two sons graduated from high school in this community. In my spare time I enjoy sewing, knitting, cooking and travel.
I bring experience, having served on many boards and with several organizations in the past. As an educator, I am pleased to be part of an organization that recognizes further education by offering Bursaries and Scholarships to deserving students and by offering further educational assistance to staff members. I am committed to making sure we have continuous health care in our area with a viable hospital that has updated equipment and qualified staff.
I have served on the Foundation Board for over 3 years.
Joe Kramer
Board Member
Born and raised in the Fairview area. Worked as an engineer in Edmonton and various locations in the province for approximately 10 years. Returned to Fairview in 1982 and farmed in the Green Island area. Served as a trustee for the Catholic School District for 18 years. Currently semi-retired from farming and still doing some part time engineering.
Joe has served on the Foundation board for the past five years.
Julie Verbicky
Board Member
Born in the old Fairview hospital, I was named after Drs Julius and Hanna Kratz, long time doctors in Fairview. It's ironic that I ended up working as an RN at the hospital for the next 35 years.
I bring with me many years of front line clinical experience, which I hope is helpful when making decisions with the board. I'm very passionate about the value of our hospital and look at many things I hope to accomplish with the support of an experienced board.
I have served on the Foundation Board for 2 years.
